DUBLIN, February 15, 2022--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The "Global Sports Composites Market by Resin Type (Epoxy, Polyamide, Polyurethane, Polypropylene), Fiber Type (Carbon, Glass), Application (Golf Sticks, Hockey Sticks, Rackets, Bicycles, Skis & Snowboards), and Region - Forecast to 2026" report has been added to ResearchAndMarkets.com's offering.

The global sports composites market is projected to grow from USD 4.1 billion in 2021 to USD 5.1 billion by 2026, at a CAGR of 4.8% between 2021 and 2026.

Carbon fiber to register higher CAGR during the forecast period

Carbon fiber composites are the fastest-growing sports composites in terms of volume. This high growth can be attributed to the high strength and lightweight properties of carbon fiber. In addition, reinforcement of carbon fiber in applications such as golf sticks, rackets, skis & snowboards, hockey sticks, fishing rods, and bicycles provides high performance, strength, and stiffness.

Epoxy resins to grow at the fastest rate between 2021 and 2026

Epoxy resins are a type of thermoset resins known for their excellent mechanical, electrical, and high heat resistance properties. Epoxy resins are also available in a wide range of curing agent variations. They have better physical, mechanical, adhesion properties, and low shrinkage than other resins. High toughness, impact strength, and moisture resistance are obtained by combining carbon or glass fibers with epoxy resins as a matrix to produce a wide range of sports composites.

Bicycle application to grow at a rapid pace during the forecast period

The use of carbon fiber in the production of bicycle frames provides various performance characteristics such as lightness, rigidity, durability, and shock absorption. Besides weight savings, carbon fiber frames provide better fatigue resistance, resistance to corrosion, and improved ride quality.

The fabrication of composites offers variations over the length of the tube, providing different fiber angles, different layer thicknesses, and different combinations of materials. Therefore, the properties of the end product made from composites can be tailored to specifications. Further, all solid pieces that do not move in bicycles can be made out of carbon composites.

For example, the front fork, handlebar, stem, seat post, saddle, crank, chain ring, seat collar, and gears.

A corporate exodus from Russia in response to its military invasion of Ukraine has seen more than 300 U.S. and multinational companies sever business ties with the country – and the list seems to be growing by the minute. But even as many flee, a number of big-name firms have remained mum.

Rio Tinto produces raw materials including copper, iron ore, bauxite, diamonds, uranium and industrial minerals. On Thursday it was reported RIO was dropping its connection to Russian businesses. In this daily bar chart of RIO, below, we can see that prices gapped down below the 200-day and the 50-day averages.

Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and the sanctions imposed by the US and its allies as retaliation are having repercussions for the global economy. One impact that immediately springs to mind is on the price of fuel, which has soared as the West now plans on rejecting Russia’s vast energy exports. You would think that this would provide a tailwind for the EV industry, but Morgan Stanley’s Adam Jonas has a surprising take on the matter. “In isolation,” said the 5-star analyst, “Higher fuel prices may

Oil prices could hit $150 per barrel — but such an upward movement would depend on how much crude China scoops up from Russia, according to one strategist.

A key Biden aide pointed directly at the oil companies during an interview Thursday. “There is definitely some of that going on,” Jared Bernstein said about possible profiteering, adding that now is the time when “the companies very much have to step up.”

President Vladimir Putin said on Thursday that sanctions imposed against Russia would rebound against the West, including in the form of higher food and energy prices, and Moscow would solve its problems and emerge stronger. Putin said there had been no alternative to what Russia calls its special military operation in Ukraine and that Russia was not a country which could accept compromising its sovereignty for some sort of short-term economic gain. "These sanctions would have been imposed in any case," Putin told a meeting of the Russian government.

India's coal imports from Russia in March could be the highest in more than two years, data from research consultancies showed, as Indian buyers continue buying the fuel from a market that is now increasingly isolated by sanctions. Vessels carrying at least 1.06 million tonnes of coking coal, mainly used for steelmaking, and thermal coal, used primarily for electricity generation, are set to deliver the fuel at Indian ports in March, the highest since January 2020, data from consultancy Kpler showed. Russia, usually India's sixth largest supplier of coking and thermal coal, could start offering more competitive prices to Chinese and Indian buyers as European and other customers spurn Russia because of sanctions, traders said, adding that the trade could also be boosted by a rouble-rupee trading arrangement.

Toyota Motor Corp will scale back domestic production by up to 20% during the months of April, May and June, it said on Friday, to ease the strain on suppliers struggling with shortages of chips and other parts. The move by Japan's largest automaker is the latest to spotlight the supply-chain difficulties hobbling the global auto industry as the COVID-19 pandemic drags on. Toyota plans to reduce domestic production by about 20% in April, about 10% in May and about 5% in June from an earlier production plan, a spokesperson said.
