Swedish electric car brand  Polestar   has joined forces with Allebike to design a full-suspension mountain  bicycle   engineered to conquer any terrain and trail, both uphill and downhill. Named  ‘Allebike Alpha Polestar edition,’ the product is fitted with modern, geometric forms and carefully selected features, from pedals to handlebar, for the optimal ride. 

The duo launched the product as a ‘one size’ limited edition of 100 bikes, each one carefully hand-built in Alingsås, Sweden, and available for purchase on Polestar’s Additionals webshop.

With its custom and sturdy Carbon Fiber-Reinforced Polymer (CFRP) frame, the new downcountry bike is an upgraded version of Allbike’s (see more here) ‘Alpha’ model. In terms of upgrades, this edition features a more upright seating position to facilitate uphill motion and a 65-degree angled slack head tube for a fully secure downhill ride. ‘[Our] minimalistic design language is clearly visible with a more angular shape to the frame and a new symmetrical rear swing arm and internal cable routing. A wireless dropper post is standard and wireless shifting is an optional tech feature,’ writes Polestar (see more here). 

Available in two matte colors, Snow (light) and Space (dark), the ‘Allebike Alpha Polestar Edition’ couples nicely with Polestar cars to create a coordinated set. Meanwhile, structural details like dampers are coated in Swedish gold to elevate the overall frame.

To optimize riding performance, the bike incorporates Polestar’s state-of-the-art suspension technology: Öhlins dampers. Specifically, the Swedish duo tuned an Öhlins RXF34 m.2 29 Air Suspension with 130 mm travel for the fork and a TTX1Air with 120 mm travel for the rear shock. By doing so, the design offers riders ‘a fast, fun and steady experience on both uphill and downhill trails’, concludes Alexander Blomqvist, Head of Design and Co-founder of Allebike.
