The MDP-9 is an AR-style pistol featuring a unique roller-delayed blowback system. It’s compact, lightweight, has light recoil, takes Glock magazines, and it's suppressor ready. Following up on the APX A1 series introduced last year, Beretta has a new full-sized 9mm that is ready for red-dot use right out of the box. The new APX A1 FS is a striker-fired 9mm with what Beretta calls "a crisp, class-dominating trigger" as well as improved ergonomics, more aggressive slide serrations, full ambi controls, and a straighter grip profile with 360-degree texturing.
This is the latest version of the M9A4. Beretta has shortened the barrel with the new Centurion model. It has the same height and Xtreme Trigger System as the full-size M9A4, but it’s about half an inch shorter.
The new 92X RDO Compact is a shorter, more compact version of the 92X RDO, which was introduced in 2021.
With a capacity of 15+1, you’ll still have plenty of firepower, but the RDO Compact uses a shorter grip frame, reducing capacity by three rounds when compared to the standard 92X RDO. It has an aggressively textured grip, a Picatinny rail, and front slide serrations.

FN left the High Power market in 2017, but it has returned with new versions for 2022. FN has three new models featuring improved internals, flush 17+1 magazines, and the capability to run hollow-point ammunition. They feature ambidextrous controls (great for you left-handers) and are available in FDE, stainless, and black finishes.

The Rough Rider TC is optics ready with a Picatinny rail, but it features an elevated fiber-optic front sight with a rear notch that continues through the Picatinny rail. It also has a threaded muzzle for accessories.
Designed for boot carry, this series of snub-nosed single-action rimfire revolvers boast a 1.68-inch barrel and a birdshead grip. The Barkeep Boot not only has a very unique look, it's also one of the more affordable plinking guns on the market, which is a nice feature on a gun that's enjoyable to shoot and runs affordable .22 LR ammo.

With many Cerakote and barrel options (Alpha, Beta, and Combat), the Lionheart Regulus 9mm features what they’re calling “Double Action Plus.” This translates to the trigger pull having three different settings. The more standard and long double-action, an improved double-action mode, and a lighter single-action mode are all options with this hammer-fired gun. IWI put their Masada pistol on a diet this year, introducing a slimmer variant that takes the gun from a Glock 17 class to something closer to a Glock 43X that's more appropriate for concealed carry. Capacity isn’t a problem with Mossberg's new MC2sc subcompact, you’ll get a whopping 14+1 rounds! It’s optics ready and offers a safe takedown procedure requiring no trigger pull. The long-awaited 9mm Phoenix features a direct-weighted blowback system that makes it easy to control for the shooter. The 110 PCS is a bolt-action handgun available in multiple calibers. It features a 10.5-inch barrel, a left-handed bolt with right-handed eject, a Picatinny rail at the rear, AccuTrigger, and a threaded barrel.

Originally introduced in the early 1990s as a more compact companion to the P226, the P229 has gone on to become one of the most popular models in the series. This Performance Model pistol extends the DR920 line from Texas-based Shadow Systems. The DR920P boasts a capacity of 17+1 rounds in a standard magazine and will fit in most holsters designed for the Glock 34. Tritium front sights sit on top of the non-reciprocating compensator for quick target acquisition. It’s a performance-driven gun with a spiral-fluted match-grade barrel, flat trigger, and aggressive texturing.
The CR920 is the newest micro-sized 9mm handgun from Shadow Systems. It offers a 10+1 standard capacity but can go to a 13+1 with the extended magazine. The weight is 17.8 ounces, and it features a flat-faced trigger with a 4.5 to 5-pound trigger pull. It will fit in most holsters designed for the Glock 43. The latest addition to the Smith & Wesson lineup is the CSX.
Small in size, it still offers a generous 10+1 capacity with a flush-fit magazine. It’s a hammer-fired pistol with a popular flat-faced trigger and a long beavertail to guard the hand. Two popular pistols just got upgraded and are now also chambered in the new .30 Super Carry. The advantage of the .30 Super Carry is that it offers a higher round count than a 9mm (+2) with improved performance over a .380 round.
Springfield Armory continues to add pages to its catalog when it comes to the new Emissary series of "refined" M1911s with a new Commander-length model in 9mm. With a distinctive frame that includes a squared, glove-friendly trigger guard, the Emissary has wrap-around grip texturing, a skeletonized hammer, and a solid-body flat-faced trigger. Built to perform for the modern shooter while still maintaining traditional 1911 features and ergonomics, the new Springfield Armory Garrison 1911 in 9mm is meant to offer an heirloom-quality gun in the classic 1911 style but chambered for the popular 9mm round. The guns run match-grade 5-inch barrels and the standard layout of Mr. John Browning's classic design.
The newest Micro 9 from Springfield is the Hellcat Pro. Featuring a flush magazine with a capacity of 15 rounds, a set of co-witnessing U-Dot tritium sights, and a Picatinny rail that’s longer than the rail on the standard Hellcat to allow for a wider range of accessories. The new XD-M Elite 4.5 Optical Sight Pistol, as its name would infer, comes standard from Croatia via Springer with a 4.5-inch hammer-forged steel barrel and a slide milled for a micro red dot. With a 7.6-inch overall length, the pistol includes an extended and flared “short” magwell for rapid magazine swaps. Speaking of mags, the XD-M Elite 4.5 OSP has a 16+1 capacity in 10mm Auto. New from Taurus in 2022 is the 605 Defender. It’s a hammer-fired DA/SA revolver with a 3-inch barrel. Standard with factory tritium front night sights with an orange outline, it’s chambered in .357 Magnum/.38 Special. Designed for personal protection, it offers a smooth, clean barrel and frame profile for easy drawing and reholstering.

Built for competition, the TX22 Competition SCR provides less recoil and reduced muzzle rise. It has a Tandemkross Game Changer Pro Squared compensator, match-grade bull barrel, and a Tandemkross Eagle Talon extractor, which will help counter failure-to-eject malfunctions during competition/high-use range sessions regardless of the range conditions.
Walther released a new version of its new, ergonomically friendly, and well-liked Performance Duty Pistol that is specifically tailored to female shooters. The new F-series models have a host of unique features that include a 20-percent reduction in the force required to rack the slide, a smaller grip circumference, and a shorter trigger-reach distance.
Walther has a new rimfire handgun but is doing it differently these days, introducing the MRD-cut Walther Magnum Pistol in .22 Winchester Magnum. While it may look like the old P22, the new WMP comes ready with two flush-fit 15-round magazines and two optics adaptor plates included. Using an aluminum slide with lightening cuts over a polymer frame, the WMP runs a 4.5-inch barrel, which gives it an overall length of 8.2-inches. Weight is 27.8 ounces. Known as "The One," this combination rifle/pistol can transform from a rifle to a pistol and is modular in even more ways. With multiple dust covers, two different backstraps and front straps, and three different magwells, there’s no limit to the customization you can do with "The One." The new Canyon from Bergara has a fluted, tapered barrel and weighs in at less than 7 pounds. It features an AG Composites carbon-fiber stock, detachable magazine, and is available in either 22 or 24-inch options depending on what it’s chambered in. Bergara says it’s one of the best hunting rifles they’ve ever built.
An ultralight and modular precision rifle, the MgLite claims to be the first rifle chasis system in the world to weigh under 2 pounds, with an overall weight between 6.6 and 6.8 pounds. It’s available in 22-inch or 24-inch barrels, depending on model, and also features a built-in bubble level and machined-in RRS 1.5-inch dovetail in the forend.
This straight-pull bolt-action hunting/precision rifle from Bushmaster uses an XM-10 barrel, magazine, and handguard, allowing for easy caliber conversion. Available in both .308 Win and 6.5 Creedmoor, the BA30 straight-pull is a great option whether you’re a hunter or a precision shooter. It’s available with 18 or 24-inch barrels. Florida-based Century Arms has released the BVT47, featuring (and obvious to the name) a bulged and forged trunnion. It’s all made right here in America with a bulged and forged 4140 steel front trunnion, carburized 4140 steel block, a 1.5mm heat-treated 4130 steel receiver, and a 16-inch chrome-moly 4150 steel barrel. The MHR from Christensen Arms is a bolt-action modular design featuring carbon-fiber technology. It’s said to be one of the most customizable platforms on today’s market. It has swappable stock designs, grips, forends, magazines, trigger guards, etc. The MHR uses an aluminum chassis and new bolt shroud, with hunter-specific features in the stock, adjustable comb height, cheek rise, and length of pull. Chambered in .308 Winchester, the DD5 SBR offers a fully ambidextrous lower that's perfect for left-handers. It features a 12.5-inch barrel and a mid-length gas system. The DD5 SBR also accepts all SR-25 pattern magazines. It has a Daniel Defense Delta 5 Pro Compact Barrel, a shorter variant of the Delta 5 Pro. The new Compact Barrel model utilizes a barrel length of 16 or 18 inches and adds an extended Picatinny base, which allows for more rail space for forward-mounted optics. Dark Storm's lightweight DS-25 is an AR-10-style rifle chambered in .308. A shorter receiver lightens the weight and allows for better control and maneuverability. The bolt carrier group is also lighter, which helps create lighter felt recoil. FN debuted the third generation of its FN 15 variant in a designated marksman rifle configuration offered in three colors. Besides its black, gray, and FDE color choices, the FN 15 DMR3 comes standard with a redesigned Hybrid-profile 18-inch barrel with a SureFire ProComp muzzle brake, and a Geissele two-stage trigger. New from Howa is a lightweight hunting rifle, the Elevate. It weighs in at only 4.2 pounds unloaded. It will be available in either a carbon (black/gray carbon-fiber stock) or a Kryptek camo model. Calibers include 6.5 Creedmoor, 6.5 PRC, 6.5 Grendel, and .308 Winchester.
All have carbon-fiber wrapped barrels with a length of 24 inches, a two-stage trigger, AccuBlock lug bed, and a Limbsaver butt pad.
Another hunting option is the Henry Long Ranger Express. It’s chambered in .223 Remington/5.56 NATO and sports a shorter 16.5-inch steel sporter barrel that's threaded for muzzle devices and suppressors.
The furniture on the Long Ranger Express is a gray laminate weather-resistant wood, fitted with sling studs and a recoil pad. This carbine measures 37 inches overall and weighs 7 pounds.
Based on the AK-101 platform, Kalashnikov USA's KR-101 is chambered in 5.56 NATO. It features a side-folding stock, 16.5-inch barrel, and common Bulgarian-style magazines, but steel-reinforced magazines will also be produced by Kalashnikov.
Constructed of stainless and laminate, this big-bore .45-70 Government is Ruger’s first lever-action Marlin rifle. Designed with tight tolerances throughout, the 1895 SBL has a spiral-fluted bolt, thinner forend, and refined stock. Adjustable ghost-ring rear sights compliment the tritium/fiber-optic front sight.
With a barrel length of 19 inches, it offers a full-length magazine tube that holds 6+1 rounds.
Ruger on Wednesday announced the reintroduction of the Marlin 1895 Trapper, with improvements including a receiver-mounted Skinner Sight system and suppressor-ready barrel. Previously, while under the now-defunct Remington Outdoors banner, Marlin marketed the Trapper, a carbine-length big-bore .45-70 that was short, quick-handling, and optimized for hunting or protection from dangerous animals, from 2018 until the company closed its lines in 2020.
This new direct impingement AR-10-style rifle from Maxim Defense is offered in multiple calibers. Models range from using an 18-inch PROOF Research carbon-fiber barrel or a stainless-steel barrel. The weight comes in at around 9 pounds, depending on the configuration and barrel choice. This rifle offers ambidextrous controls and a Gisselle SSA-E trigger. The newest hunting rifle from Nosler is the Model 21. It offers a spiral-fluted one-piece bolt, a McMillan carbon-fiber stock painted in all-weather epoxy. Ruger has added a new variant to its PC Carbine series, this one shipping standard with a set of very pack and trail-friendly furniture.

The new A17 is a semi-automatic delayed blowback rifle now chambered in .17 Winchester Super Magnum. Two models, the A17 Sporter and the A17 Target both have case-hardened receivers set into gray laminate stocks. The barrel length is 22 inches, both rifles also have a user-adjustable AccuTrigger and a hard-chrome bolt with an oversized bolt handle for easy manipulation.
Either model is a great choice for small game hunting or target shooting and use eight-round rotary magazines.
With a beavertail forend, the 110 Tactical features a stainless-steel carbon-fiber wrapped threaded barrel. It offers an AccuTrigger, AccuFit technology, and an AccuStock right out of the box. There’s a one-piece 20-MOA rail, detachable box magazines, and three sling swivel studs for customized sling placement.
The 110 Carbon Tactical weighs in at just over 7.5 pounds and is available in .308 Winchester, 6.5 Creedmoor, and 6.5 PRC. Color choices are gray or FDE.
The Magpul Hunter features an upgraded aluminum bedding block and is available in both left and right-hand options. It has an 18-inch carbon-steel heavy threaded barrel, user-adjustable AccuTrigger, and a 20-MOA rail. The Volunteer series of guns are the latest AR-style rifles from Smith & Wesson. With two overall models (the Volunteer XV and Volunteer XV Pro), you can choose from traditional options like A2 front sight posts or optics-ready variants. The competition-ready Pro series is complete with a long M-Lok rail and Primary Weapon System muzzle brake.
Both offer flat-faced triggers, B5 System stocks and grips, and chromed firing pins as standard equipment on the Volunteer line.
Chambered in 5.56 NATO, this new bullpup has an overall length of just 28.25 inches. Despite its smaller stature, it still possesses a carbine-length 16-inch CMV barrel with a 1:7 twist. It offers a two-position adjustable short-stroke gas piston system and fully ambidextrous controls.

Used by the Siberian military, the new M07 by Zavasta is chambered in 7.62x51mm. It features a threaded heavy-profile barrel manufactured from chrome-vanadium cold-hammer-forged steel. The receiver has a polygonal shape. The trigger is adjustable, and the polymer stock is adjustable for cheek and length of pull. There’s also a machined-in Picatinny rail for optics and accessories. Making it California-legal, this “featureless” AK-style rifle has a fixed aluminum triangle stock, 10/30 pinned magazine, and a fin grip. It looks much like the standard Zastava M70, including the 16.3-inch cold-hammer-forged chrome-lined barrel, optic side rail, and adjustable front and rear iron sights. An updated version of the wildly popular A400 series, the A400 Xcel Sporting is an autoloading shotgun designed for clays. It ships standard with enlarged surface controls, Beretta’s Blink gas operating system, and Beretta’s proprietary Kick-Off recoil reduction system. New from Browning is a series consisting of three new autoloaders: A5 Lightning Sweet Sixteen, A5 Sweet Sixteen Upland, and A5 Sweet Sixteen Mossy Oak Shadow Grass Habitat.
All three are chambered in 16-gauge and offer the Total Barrel Dynamics and the Invector-DS choke tube system. The A5 Lightning Sweet Sixteen and A5 Sweet Sixteen Upland are set in Turkish walnut furniture, while the A5 Sweet Sixteen Mossy Oak Shadow Grass Habitat is crafted with a composite stock with Mossy Oak Shadow Grass Habit camo.

Connecticut-based Mossberg added another fast-shooting scattergun to its line of 940 Pro shotguns with the unveiling of its new 12-gauge 940 Pro Tactical shotgun with a 3-inch chamber this week. While previous models were designed for hunting and competition, the Tactical targets a new market with an eight-shot capacity built on the feature-filled 940 Pro platform. The new 590S is specially designed to support short shells, which in turn greatly increases your in-tube capacity. The modified feeding system includes a buffer and extended tongue on the elevator to assist with reliably loading smaller shells. It’s a great option for home defense or plinking because of the increased capacity of the shorter shell option. It will shoot 1.75, 2.75, and 3-inch shells from the same tube.
The new SKB 720 Field is an over-under built on a CNC-machined box-lock receiver with an underlug locking bar. It has a mechanical trigger and barrel selector. It’s can come chambered for 12 gauge, 20 gauge, 28 gauge, and .410 bore. The furniture is Grade II Turkish walnut. The 720 is a fantastic option for upland and waterfowl hunters
Although the SX4 line isn’t new for 2022, the option to grab one that is left-hand friendly is new. Left-friendly versions have been added to both the 12-gauge and 20-gauge options and can be configured in wood, synthetic, and camouflage versions, as well as multiple barrel lengths.
