Norton Motorcycles’ new V4SV superbike has taken luxury in superbikes to a whole new level.

The new re-engineered V4SV is the most luxurious British superbike ever created. Considered the only British-built and designed superbike in production, the handling, speed, and feeling are said to have no match. The V4SV was imagined at ‘The Isle of Man TT,’ and it’s the road where it was born. This beautiful Norton bike is the epitome of the carmaker’s combined extensive racing experience and is designed by keeping in mind everything a rider looks for in a road bike. This new model is expected to set new standards in the motorcycle industry.

Norton’s redesigned front-runner superbike is believed to be the most luxurious British motorcycle. Now called the V4SV, its spec sheet looks fairly comparable to the V4SS it replaces.

The V4SV strikes with bold lines that create an energetic and dynamic yet sleek silhouette, svelte and compact for a fabulously receptive ride. The dauntless design is unmistakably Norton-like, and the company claims the new model is the pinnacle of their design DNA at play. The bike’s frame is carefully handcrafted, with the tig welded aluminum tube frame polished with a mirror finish, and it is moreover tactile and expressive. The bike has an optimum weight as the carbon fiber bodywork decreases weight for better responsiveness.

The all-new V4SV is offered in the customer’s choice of Carbon or Manx color schemes. The Manx scheme comes with Manx Silver bodywork, full-color Union Jack graphics, and red and black pinstripes. The Red OZ Racing forged aluminum wheels make the silver stand out, and the whole look is topped off with a black front number board and a lacquered carbon fiber belly pan. The Carbon color scheme may be understated. Although it’s monochrome, it consists of carbon fiber and comes with BST wheels, and a monochrome Union Jack, grey pinstripes. In both color variants, the pedals, footpegs, and yokes are billet aluminum machined.

The new superbike retains the quickly identifiable refined aluminum frame, Ohlins suspension, Brembo monobloc brakes with 330mm discs, and carbon bodywork from the previous model. The 1200cc 72-degree V4 engine seems unchanged from the outside, yet the engine power has dropped from around 200 HP to 185 HP at 12,500 rpm. The torque is knocked down from a claimed peak of 95.8 lb-ft to 92.5 lb-ft comes 1,000 rpm sooner in the rev range. The plunge in torque and power indicates that the engine in the old bike was perhaps overstressed. Currently, in the final phase of engineering development, every bike component is said to have undergone reappraisal, including the 1200 cc V4 powertrain. The in-house engine produces 185 HP and 92 lb-ft of torque. A tubular aluminum chassis encompasses the motor residing within while the bodywork is built using carbon fiber.

The new V4 still has a rear-facing camera, keyless ignition, and a TFT dash.

The motorcycle gets LED lighting, keyless ignition, changeable modes such as Road, Sport, and Wet. It also has a quick shifter, a rev-matching function, and a six-axis IMU that provides lean-angle sensitive traction control. The supersport bike also gets a custom Norton Ohlins TTXGP rear shock and completely adjustable Ohlins front forks. Radially-mounted Brembo monobloc front calipers handle the Brembo Braking up front, a 245mm single disc in the rear, with twin 330 mm floating rotors.

The V4SV suite looks satisfactory on paper in the rider assistance and tech department. The bike is equipped with LED lighting overall, including DRL. A rearview camera functionality accompanies a full-color six-inch display which has auto-adjusting brightness. Norton mentions that the camera doesn’t replace rearview mirrors but is provided in addition to them. A six-axis IMU authorizes three engine modes named Road, Sport, and Wet and lean-angle-sensitive traction control. A quick shift system with auto-blipper, electronic steering lock, keyless ignition are standard. With all of its high-end features, this premium-end motorcycle is expected to have an exorbitant price tag, as the V4SS itself was priced above $60,000.

The V4SV is the first Norton motorcycle to be unveiled to the masses since TVS bought the company in 2020 after its administration setbacks, and as a result, the pressure seems to be piled high behind the scenes. The bike impresses and seems attractive in the looks department, and if all goes well, it might rule the streets in typical Norton fashion.
